General Anesthesia
General Anesthesia is a combination of medications that put you in a sleep-like state before a surgery or other medical procedure.
Under General Anesthesia, you don't feel pain because you're completely unconscious.
The primary benefits of anesthesia include:
- Using anesthesia can consolidate multiple appointments into one appointment.
- The patient will experience little to no pain during the procedure.
- Anesthesia can be used in combination with sedation dentistry to relieve anxiety, pain, fear, and discomfort during procedures.
Dental Treatment under General Anesthesia (GA) is reserved for patients whose behavior cannot be managed for example very young children.
Sedation dentistry for children is recognized by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry as an effective way to make many children comfortable during their dental treatment.
Patients with complex medical conditions in need of invasive dental procedures shall also be treated under General Anesthesia.
People with extreme dental phobia or severely uncooperative patients are also candidates for general anesthesia.
At Vasupujya Dental Hospital general anesthesia is administered by our Anesthesiologist and the dental work is completed our Specialist Dentists.
